it feels like the same effort when russia framed a citizen over there. they left a note in the camera shot saying to leave 3 sim, so they left 3 sim games. note said to write a letter and sign it. the signature said ‘signature’. id like to sit in on the talk for what to right on the case just to hear this high level brainstorming.

This hed conflicts with the story. One death at the facility, then the shooter offed himself.
While that’s technically two “fatalities,” it’s misleading to frame it that way.

I hate that news has turned into being first over being right. I love to break news, but it needs to be more than speculation.
So either the shooter screwed up and hit detainees instead, or they’re covering up the attack and painting it as a “anti-ice” attack instead? Extremely confusing
I don’t understand why the shooter would target the prisoners if they were “anti ice”. Unless they really were a terrible shot. It just doesn’t make sense
my personal take on this is, its some rightwinger trying to get the troubles to pop off. we saw it with kirk, a rightwinger shot a rightwinger and the right was calling for the blood of everyone different than them. a rightwinger shot at trump, whether a set up or not, the right was foaming at the mouth to attack the anyone different. a rightwinger was found with a gun on his golf trip… again calls for violence to the non rightwing. something like 97% of political violence is rightwing. they want a war and we will keep seeing all these crimes getting. blamed on everyone else, until someone fights back or they feel they are losing power.

speculating without evidence about the identity/motivation of shooters is bad. it’s bad when right-wingers do it and it’s bad when people on the left do it.
just wait. wait for actual reliable evidence to come out. there’s no prize for saying 5 minutes after the shooting “I bet it was someone who thought X” and having that turn out to be correct.
There will be no actual reliable evidence with this administration.
sure, there will be misinformation from the White House, misinformation from the right-wing media, misinformation from the cops, misinformation from random assholes on Twitter, etc.
but that’s not a good excuse to add to the misinformation. speculation based purely on vibes is never productive, no matter how correct the vibes feel.
and yeah, we’ll never know 100% of what happened with 100% certainty. but there will be good, reliable reporting about parts of it. when that reliable reporting comes out, by all means shout it from the rooftops.
but in the meantime, don’t fill the void with unreliable information. like I said, just wait. have a little patience.

Their accounts paint the picture of someone with a vaguely libertarian bent who despised both major parties and politicians generally (including Trump) but who didn’t engage with politics beyond that. He preferred edgy humor, video games and the message board 4chan, all of which he became increasingly steeped in as he withdrew from social life as well as their own friendships several years ago, they said.

I’m not waiting around for this fascist administration to put more of their spin out there uncontested. There is no moral victory in being right if everyone else has already been deceived into accepting a false narrative. You’re welcome to dither about whether your spin might be wrong, but this administration is not bad because they are misinforming people, they are bad because they are actively pushing narratives to justify hurting people… and also going out and hurting people.
If counter-spin is needed to prevent their narrative from dominating popular perception, then that counter-spin is the moral act, not silence. Letting Trump use this to cart off another million innocent immigrants, or ban some more non-MAGA political groups, while you wait to find out whether this incredibly suspicious event is in fact what Trump is claiming it is, does not make you some valorous truth-seeker.
