They usually show up after I made a purchase. How many times do they expect me to be interested in buying this buy-it-for-life-product.
Nate Bargatzy has a great bit about that. He said “I already took care of that need, Amazon. You were there. Remember?”. I tried to find it for you, but was unsuccessful.
Same here - it’s constantly like, “Hey, remember those shoes you bought last week? Did you want to see 50 ads for the exact same pair?” Either that, or I get ads for stuff I would literally never buy that doesn’t make any sense based on all the data they almost certainly have on me. Like, a weird amount of meat and baby products. Also, a lot of ads in Spanish even though my Spanish is mediocre at best, so that’s nice for the practice, at least.
Jokes on you, no products are made to be one time purchases anymore. Buy it for life is dead in the commercial space. :(
USA, Japanese or German made hand tools, quality cookware, knives, union-made boots, mid to high-end audio equipment… There are still lots of goods that will last you a lifetime.
Union made boots
Nothing footwear lasts a lifetime if you’re active enough. At best you get a Ship of Theseus situation. But they will last you longer.
Two Googles and two Facebooks.
That’s usually how monopolies works
So duopoly?
We need to kill this popular myth. Monopoly power is not defined by an actual monopoly. Those are exceedingly rare. Monopoly power is far more common. Talking about the exact number of companies in an industry is misleading at best when trying to talk about anti-competitive and rent seeking behaviors.

There are only two companies in this picture, and they share data with each other.
Only log into these websites in a private browser you trust and they can’t “peek” in as readily.
Lmao and use a different search engine, and disable voice controls on your phone, and never type a brand name into the phone’s keyboard.
They are always listening and watching. Not just on their sites.
That’s the truth. Unless you’re sporting a trusted linux distro, and a dumb phone, something is always liatening.
Hey now! Don’t leave out the FBI from the fun.
you know you’re actually serious about it when you try to find a niche message board dedicated to
thing
Don’t forget TikTok and TEMU
The question is; are they listening or have they printed us through showing other content that primed us to consume that product?
checks yep have none of that and have no plan to have in the forseeble future.
You forgot Amazon.
Before I read the words my brain registered this image as an animorphs parody
