  • What an absolute piece of shit.

Like every word she speaks is TERF propaganda, which she recognizes: She Twitted “Full TERF”.

She says “He is a biological man. End of. Period.”

She makes a point that she is not willing to discuss or find common ground by any criteria (not even the safety and dignity of trans women themselves).

This is a savage and barbaric, blatant display of bigotry and hatred, a disgusting outlook for any human, and totally unworthy of respect in decent society.

Thoughts out to Sarah Mac Bride that has to face this and still keeps her cool.

To me banning transgender use of public spaces and bathrooms should be listed as a hate crime and be heavily fined.

I hope her motion is rejected, she should be ashamed of her ridiculous self.

  • This is not a matter of opinion, rather than centralized control of information.

Musk can shadow ban you, for example, nobody granted him that power except he was able to by it.

This type of social media are a power structure that is despotic in nature, and it is deeply problematic for democracies.

It is not like a nation state banning a religious minority or an anarchist site. That would be censoring of opinions.

In the case of Xitter, it is Musk and a team of political advertising engineers doing the censorship. So they are worse than Nazi apologists for example. The latter we only anticipate they will impose censorhip (let alone murder) once they are in power.

Xitter has that power already at orders of magnitude above what traditional media outlets have. He controls the flow of information. (And he made it a fucking nazi bar right enough).

But I will grant you that we should not expect nation states to ban Xitter. We should aim for its destruction.

  • Yes, you missed how social media algorithms work, having captivated the attention of whole nations, and carefully control every bit of information that pass in front of your eyes, then some billionaire buying said mechanism and taking part in the government he helped elected, then threatening the nations that have banned him that they will lose the next elections. Did I miss anything?

Real democracies need to shield themselves from this kind of corporate interference, yet most people don’t even understand how it works, or why Cambridge Analytica was a big hit, or where are these experts now and how they are making a living.

  • like banning the use of inmate labor in California and instituting a ranked choice ballot in some states

I can’t parse your comment in depth, but with regard to the above measures, I think that it is OK for anarchists to show up to strategically upvote such measures, but these can’t be the goal. We are not a reliable source of voting potential for centrists; this stance is perpetuated because of the eternal myth of utopic anarchism.

Voting should not be a distraction from maintaining pillars of solidarity in the community, and this especially in times of dictatorship, like when voting is not even on the table.

  • as thoroughly propagandized as most americans

This is probable especially since a good portion of leftists interprets these movements as “identity politics” rather than as historical movements that stem from exploitation and are a genuine part of the radical left.

Some even want to purge their politics from this “reformist neoliberal plague”.

This would of course be too close to Elon Musk’s “woke mind virus”, so it is more or less the same notion. You bet leftists have not received a similar type of propaganda, which is ultimately a dilution of true class consciousness.

  • clearly a large number of potential voters that are not so stupid as to vote for Trump but felt the Democrats wouldn’t make their lives better in any way either

This is a great point, and it is very much corroborated by the rest of your response. In particular

    what was different back then?

Biden did signal to take the Black Lives Matter protests serious

Exactly, if they want to have the high moral ground they should do sth of it. It is not like Black Lives Matter and Trans Rights protest because they have nothing more interesting to do. They protest to bring social change and to be heard.

Centrists historically have won over minorities by paying lip service to them, and/or painting a narrative of inclusive capitalism. Now they were confident enough that the minorities’ vote was granted, and they did not meet that low bar even.

Biden also lift the trans military ban, much to the ire of the conservatives. What did Harris do? Shut up about trans issues and cater to conservatives because trans bad/too edgy.

appeal to moderate white conservatives (likely falsely assuming her racial identity would be sufficient to mobilize the non-white voters anyways)

Yes, the appeal to the white moderate conservative was tried in this election and failed miserably. Yet they strive for more of it. Having thought that the minorities will vote for them no matter what because what’d they gonna do, vote for fucking Trump? Guess what, some minority individuals did exactly that.

Democrats are no shit to be trusted, and they have been preying on far-left and minority vote forever, with the boogeyman of the right-wing opponent. Fuck, if they become the boogeyman themselves and shut up about our issues, then why should we even bother.

We really need to make anarchism relevant again.

  • I am not subscribing to this bullshit, and I am sad my comment enabled you to spew it out. “Me too” was a valid and necessary movement to combat sexual assaults that were institutionalized in many industries and protected by law enforcement and judicial authorities. Many prominent figures went rightfully to jail for sex crimes, and the proportion of women lying about it is rather small to make a political argument off it. Tracing back “liberal-themed supremacy movements” to Jewish supremacism sounds to me quite close to Nazi conspiracy theory, to take any of this seriously. I am sorry this reached my feed, and I can’t wait to engage the likes of you in combat.
