Two weeks ago Reddit started forcing me to login in order to access the old version of the site. For me, that was the final push I needed to jump ship. I had created an account here a few years back but never quite got invested in the platform as Reddit was still decently usable with a few tweaks.

I am a bit nervous as subreddits that I frequented don’t have established alternatives here. I could usually jump on Reddit once or twice a day and have a decent bit of posts to look through for a given subreddit. I haven’t seen that level of activity on some of the communities I’m interested in that I’ve looked at across lemmy. It’s probably just the reality of joining a newer and growing community.

Regardless, I’m excited to be here and I appreciate the look behind the scenes.
