1 year agoThe OLED SD looks amazing, but I don’t know if it’s worth it if you already have the original, you don’t get any significant performance boost. If you feel your Deck isn’t enough for what you’re playing, the Ally or Legion Go is a worthwhile upgrade, you get better performances, better screen and a smaller device, but if you’re fine with the current performance, I find it difficult to justify buying a brand new device, no matter how good the new screen looks (but then again, I didn’t buy the OLED Switch because I already had the original, while a lot of people said it was really worth it, maybe I’m just cheap).
I personally don’t see much point in using a 1200p screen when the console is already having difficulties at 800p in some games, but I guess that only for the improved panel and 2D indies, it’s worth it for a lot of people. I could see myself buying it if the removal of the screen wasn’t such a nightmare, but the real dealbreaker is having to modify the BIOS after every updates and now knowing when it will break, that just makes it unusable for me.
