perhaps I have one from a different manufacturer, I didn’t have any pinching, but yes mine did smell very strongly of that “oily” plastic smell, I washed it and wiped it down with rubbing alcohol before using it, which is what you should do before using any cage imo. Also these have prime shipping, so I was willing to pay a little extra for not having to wait a month lol
