He believes that he will be able to control Iran just as he controls Venezuela. Controlling Iran means controlling its oil and price.

1·2 days agoThat’s the reason Europe, Russia, and China should get together and make a deal without the US. Trump doesn’t just want to prevent Iran from building a nuclear bomb but wants to control Iran just as he’s controlling Venezuela.

1·3 days agoIt is the man not the machine. Humans design the robots. If the robots kill indiscriminately, that’s the fault of the designer. The article said that some of the robots do tasks besides killing such as clearing mines and bringing up supplies.

1·4 days agoEurope has to become independent of Trump. Europe is like a wife who husband abuses her but is afraid to leave because she doesn’t think she can survive on her own. Europe can survive without Trump. Europe cannot do anything to help Greenland if the US invades it. The reason is that Greenland is very close to the US unless Russia and China help, which is very possible. Russia and China do not want the US to control Greenland.

World News@lemmy.world•Trump claims Starmer is weak as he mocks PM and UK aircraft carriersEnglish
4·5 days agoStarmer should stop trying to please Trump and move closer to Europe. Remember Starmer had a state banquet for Trump hoping to get lower tariffs but got very little in return. Prince Harry would be a better royal representative than King Charles. Unlike his father, Prince Harry is a military war veteran.

68·5 days agoThis is what Europe should propose to Putin. Russia will withdraw from all land it seized from Ukraine after the 2022 invasion. NATO would be dissolved and replaced with a European alliance. Ukraine and Canada would be permitted to join but not the US. All sanctions against Russia will be lifted. Russia will not be required to pay reparations. If Putin doesn’t accept the proposal, the UK and France would send troops to Ukraine.

61·5 days agoKamala Harris tried to please everyone. She tried to please those who supported Israel by saying Israel has the right to defend itself. She tried to please those who wanted Israel to stop bombing in Gaza by saying Israel should be more careful with its bombing. Trump clearly stated he supported Israel and got the support of those who favored Israel. Those who didn’t support Israel chose not to support Harris because she didn’t commit to opposing Israel’s actions in Gaza. Harris disregarded one of Aesop’s Fables. World News@lemmy.world•Macron says 'unrealistic' to open Hormuz Strait by force, urges Trump to 'be serious'English
419·5 days agoEurope should get together with Russia and China to negotiate a peace deal. Russia could agree to store and process Iran’s enriched uranium, something which it has already suggested. The uranium could be given to Iran as needed for peaceful purposes. In return, Europe would end all sanctions. The strait of Hormuz would be opened as soon as the US and Israel stop bombing Iran. If Iran agrees to such a deal, Trump might be willing to follow since there would be no more uranium to bomb and Europe, Russia, and China have left him isolated.

World News@lemmy.world•‘Weak and pathetic’: why is the EU not using its leverage to stop Israel?English
15·6 days agoThis is what Europe should propose to Israel. Egypt will be given the West Bank enlarged by land equivalent to the Gaza Strip. In return, Israel will be given the Gaza Strip and land at least 3 times larger than the West Bank in the Sinai Peninsula. Some of the land will be adjacent to water so Israel can build desalination plants. The Sinai is inhospitable, and Egypt doesn’t have the technology to develop it, but Israel does. With its new land, Egypt can give it to the Palestinians, make it a state within Egypt, or whatever it wants.

I don’t think Trump would agree to #6. However, Trump could explain to Iran that ending sanctions would enable Iran to rebuild. #2 and #5 require explanation. Trump would probably agree to letting Iran having sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, but they would have to keep it open. Iran would have to agree to any UN resolution banning it from developing a nuclear bomb.
