The biggest advantage of the M340i is it sips gas at 11-12 L / 100 KM despite the kind of power it has. Also, it can very well keep up with previous generation Ms. You can probably fully unleash it’s power on regular roads (at the risk of speeding tickets and dangerous driving). I don’t believe you get to fully unleash a pure M except on the track. At the same price point, between the G20 M340i and F80 M3, for regular use I’d go for the G20 340i. The M3 is more a long term care, passion car. However, against the S20 M3 - definitely better than the G20 M340i if you have the dollars.
