Less so over time. I’m still in year one so I like to keep it charged up, but at the same time I like having my car not be in the garage so it’s easier for me to go to work. I’m comfortable leaving it out off the charger down to 40% now. My round trip to work and back takes 18-25 percent and I have to leave charge for taking my kids to their extracurriculars and unplanned drives like taking my son last night to get his backpack from the next town over.
On Sunday, I had the car on a road trip and pulled into a charger at a rest stop with 4% remaining. It just takes time to get to know your car and how it behaves.
I don’t think the revolution will come from the cars. It’ll come from the charging infrastructure. We need spark hydrants.
