  • Oh yes, I’m absolutely not disparaging smol and humble boobs and I really am an equal opportunity boob enjoyer 😀 But also I’d be a dirty lying liar if I said that I don’t go absolutely aaaaaa when I get my grubby paws on ones that are bigger than mine.

Cult of the Lamb is the only one out of those I’ve even tried and I was terrible at it – dunno if it’s the whole “being middle aged” thing or what but I can’t deal with too much action anymore 🤣 Give me a weird adventure game like Kentucky Route Zero or a hugbox like Sable and I’m a happy 'lil nerd.

  • I really wonder what the filters are doing to beautiful girls’ mental state.

Nothing good. Kids These Days™ (I’m an old bat so everyone under ~25 is a kid 😅) have it really tough when it comes to appearance, and the pressure isn’t mainly on just women and girls anymore either – there’s a lot more pressure on guys too nowadays.

Younger generations have gotten many things way more right than us Gen X’s, but sadly many things are a lot more fucked up too. I’m so glad that when I was a teen smartphones weren’t a thing, let alone influencers, filters (literal airbrushing doesn’t count!), etc. etc., and “social media” was BBSs, Usenet, and IRC

  • I don’t think NSFW content is bad, I feel like in fact having different sections for NSFW posts makes community bigger because it attracts people.

Yeah definitely! Porn / erotica has been a huge factor in the popularity of the whole internet, too. Like you said in your post, currently lemmynsfw is mainly specifically porn; it’s an “easier” format than more conversation-based stuff because Lemmy really doesn’t have critical mass yet and the majority of people just mainly lurk and don’t comment / post (like it is with any social network.) Contrast this to the fact that there’s smutty chat subreddits that have more users than the entirety of Lemmy 😅

I did notice that a lot of people have “sex is dirty” mindset (elsewhere not here) and then they can get pretty rude and underhanded like anything goes because basically they associate sex with something dark and secretive.

Ugh I get what you mean. Weirdly enough it feels like younger folks are a bit more in that mindset than us old farts, like attitudes have gotten more conservative instead of less when it comes to sexuality. Well, at least partially, there’s good things too of course.

But yeah anyhow, could be that your best bet right now could be to try and be active on !chat@lemmynsfw.com (or others like it, I actually don’t know what the options are here for that stuff) like you’ve already done, try to strike up conversations? Might be a bit of a grind but you already managed to “activate” people a bit which is great!

  • This could just as well have been written by me. Especially the bit about how “people who know themselves and are unapologetically authentic about it are just lovely” really resonates with me; one of the benefits of being middle aged is that people do tend to sort of find themselves as they get older, and just be way less stressed about how they seem to others.
