  • It’s one seat.

They completely lost SA. The only thing that has changed in 30 years is that Pauline has started pretending she’s a successful politician

We have preferential voting and most people will still put her close to last

Most of us hate Trump and Gina. Just because its hair is orange instead of its face doesn’t mean we’ll be fooled

ON supporters just tend to be vocal idiots

A good thought experiment is the covid vaccine. Based on social media, you’d think we were all worried about it. However, if you then click on their profile, it’s almost always a car, truck, guns or horse… And those seem to be the communities causing 99% of the noise

  • I used to sell them.

The reality is, Apple Succeeded by lying about their stability, people thought they couldn’t get viruses, and people wiling to overlook their f***-ups.

Here in Australia, a week before Boot camp was released, i actually showed a national sales manager how we got Windows running on a Mac mini, and told him how it would be a great transition technology. He basically tried to make me look like an idiot in front of customers in our showroom.

A week later, boot camp was released. The same guy returned, and was repeating all the same arguments I made a week ago, and was proud of them, acting like Apple’s was brilliant. I got no apology. I should have called him out at the time, burnt my bridges and demanded an apology.

The things Microsoft and Google did are honestly less bad than honestly. Apple blatantly lied about a lot of things, stood on stage and pretended like they had full rights to multitouch, and they had invented it.

In fact, Microsoft bailed out Apple in 1997, and the moment they started recovering, they treated Microsoft like crap

  • How many are bots?

Its like facebook. Engagement is up, audience is increased, but, its likely by a small number of people. I started noticing that in the Aussie subs, that every week, near the weekend (right before night), there were obvious lobbyist posts, which suddenly shot up (stuff like pro guns, pro- one nation etc). At this point, our local racism party was clearly doing heavy lobbying on the platform (despite losing 30 years of elections, based on reddit, you’d think they were #1).

Like facebook, a lot of people are switching off now, and trying to find alternatives.

Moderation has also gotten really bad recently. I had an account for 14+ years, never got banned. Made a new account, and within a few months, I got a temp ban for apparently being racist (despite the fact, I spent a lot of time arguing AGAINST racism).

On facebook in fact, on the heatpump posts, I actually noticed 1 or 2 names pop up on almost all the adverts saying they were an engineer, and that heatpumps don’t work, etc (with bad info). Reddit allows infinite accounts, and no doubt, it is not much better there

  • I hate trackpads in general.

Their first gen of touchpad however was the worst I ever saw

It was on the last PowerBook pro (I think)

And it was just yet another example of bad hardware apple released, but few people talk about, and Steve was in charge when it happened

  • This is particularly an issue here in Australia.

Our most vocal racist community is our Truckie community. They blame everyone for everything except themselves. They even argue that normal drivers shouldn’t pull over for sleep and that it’s killing Truckies (less spots for them to stop). It’s always about them…

And they always love to emphasise how important and irresplacable they are, despite the fact it’s one of Australia’s lowest skilled jobs.

When fuel prices went up, many of them were demanding they strike and block all the roads because many signed bad/risky contracts they didn’t want to blame themselves for

Not all of them, but the problem is so bad a newspaper even recently published how toxic they were

  • I mean, check their puck mouse lol.

Go find a mighty mouse and use the right mouse button every day

Try to find me 2 worse designed mice.

Or, tell me the good thing about those 2 mice

The most basic benefit (ease of use) isn’t even good. Because the buttons on the mighty mouse isn’t obvious, I saw a lot of elderly people struggle to Click consistently. And if they wanted to do a right click, it wasn’t going to happen

It might be subjective, but you’ll struggle to find anyone defending these two products

And you definitely will struggle to find anyone who will say that the best spot for a USB port is on the bottom 😂
