So natural gas powerplants with sufficient exhaust scrubbers are having a substantial effect on atmospheric pollutants? I feel like we keep getting off of the main question here. Like to stoves and lighters and such. I get nothing burns perfectly clean but seems like just an engineering hurtle to me. With natural gas I’m typically more concerned about the hydro fracking aspect. There’s really not a solution to groundwater contamination in fracking beyond them saying it didn’t happen.

I’m not saying it is, but what I am saying is there’s a lot of fuck shit about it and the events that followed after.

Funny enough Larry Silverstein purchased the twin towers just 49 days before the attack even though the cost of renovating the buildings asbestos was likely going to cost more than their purchase price. On top of that he argued with the insurance companies to triple his coverage which they were happy to do because they would be receiving triple the pay. For all intents and purposes he had made the dumbest financial decisions in modern history. He was headed for immediate financial insolvency. After the attack and all the dust settled he cleared $4.5 billion. On top of that the man very famous for never missing a single day at the office just so happened to be out for an appointment exactly at the time of the attack. This is why he is also known as the luckiest business man in modern history. It’s almost as if he knew something that everyone else didn’t, otherwise his purchase of the towers and agreement with the insurance companies really doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

I mean yeah but is it burning in such a way it’s actually impacting people’s wellbeing? Is it creating that much atmospheric pollution even with waste fume scrubbers? I cook with natural gas and it doesn’t leave soot. I’m not sure where you are but anywhere I’ve been lighters use butane and not natural gas. I’m not trying to be a jerk, just trying to get an accurate picture of the situation.

Would be cool if we were like unknowingly long life friends or family members. Would make that comment really funny. Anyways, odds are I don’t know you irl.

I mean yeah if you displace air (nitrogen and oxygen) with anything you’re going to have a bad time, but I didn’t think natural gas plants were straight up leaking valuable natural gas everywhere like a home stove or gas heater can. The black soot is interesting, must mean the natural gas source was tainted because as far as I know pure natural gas burns totally clean. Just to check, we were speaking about natural gas plants for energy generation right?

The term at least in the US is very skewed in one direction and not the other. Groups that are labelled as terrorist organizations aren’t in the US, like the proud boys. I wouldn’t even say the state, I would say the wealthy and powerful who feel a group can be useful or not.

Man terrorists and terrorism is such a scam to scare people into expanding surveillance, arrest political opposition, and start needless wars. I mean there are a few cases that are legitimate, but generally it’s an abused word.

Not to say I dislike justice but I’m a hippie, the one people one love, unconditional love, hope, and forgiveness as best I can manage type. I get where you’re coming from, I wasn’t always this way, used to be a pretty angry fellow. For me I’m more so sad to see minds and hearts that are so deep into ignorance that they cause needless and avoidable suffering to themselves and others. I like to see minds become aware because they stop causing needless and avoidable suffering. Of course that process of becoming aware can be quite hellish at times, which is why most don’t bother. To me if it can be managed it’s the ultimate punishment because on the other side you get a person who wants to decrease needless and avoidable suffering.

Not arguing but just curious. I didn’t think natural gas plants heavily affected air quality. I’m aware that fracking has its share of issues, notably ground water contamination. I always thought coal plants were the ones with emissions issues.

Large nuclear reactors scare VC with large upside cost and delayed construction so they don’t get built. Known and tested SMR’s pretty much have that covered. I’ll accept clean energy over cheaper.

I would take carbon free electricity over cheaper electricity any day, but yes those with the money buying power generation want primarily the cheapest energy.

Definitely part of it but I think it’s deeper than that. Let me put on my paranoid hat real quick. A ramp up of division is useful to the rich and powerful, particularly if it turns into a culture war, which of course it has.
