Trump’s threats are far more threatening than some pretty reasonable beaurocratic moves, although the threats do put the beaurocratic moves in a really unflattering context (regardless of whether it’s related or not, I have no idea on that front, I don’t know if the northern command is MAGA).

Given that geographically it is on the North American continent, shares a land border with Canada, and is in the Arctic I think this decision does make logical sense.
