It’s good to be orgranized and it ain’t no flex to not be BUT it’s the passion that really seal the deal here. It’s like how I don’t manage my cables simply because I like to be neat but more that I manage them because if they aren’t organized I cannot function at full capacity just knowing that things are a mess.

If people inside the US hadn’t voted for a fascist Nazi and others hadn’t continually allowed the centre-right to keep moving the needle then you wouldn’t have this problem either. It’s not the people with morals that are a problem in that dumpster fire, it’s the tens of millions of people who actively and aggressively support full-blown fascism. The point is that if you build right, or even attempt to, you will have safer roads and cities even with a lot more density.

Once capitalism has regulations to keep it in check and a democratically elected government is in charge and willing to do those things it’s no longer capitalism. Capitalism is putting monied interests first and crossing your fingers that the free hand of the market is anything more than a fairy told to naive idiots to make them support a corrupt-by-design system, such that those monied interests can be said to be chosen “democratically”(vote with your wallets).

Look, if Canadians were willing to vote in the Liberals then I think we can get over some of this stuff, and that’s coming from someone who’s learning French in Montréal despite it being a place one can be very anglpphone in.

This isn’t medieval fantasy where not listening will get the evil wizard king to kill you with arcane spells beyond your comprehension. The US is still barely clinging onto the last, thin shred of civility required which makes it so that you will not need to fear for your life if you tell someone to take their warcrime and go fuck themselves with it. The US has always been kinda crappy. Look at who it picks fights with and look at who it generally avoids and you’ll learn a lot. Europe is better than them in so many ways and they know they’d get stomped if they compared themselves to most of the continent so they instead compare themselves to places that are a little more in line, often times because they themselves destabilized the region. Whenever Europe is mentioned it’s “oh, we couldn’t do that here because we’re different.”

Here in Canada we suffer the same problem except we compare ourselves to the US as our low bar.
