What in Key Lime Pie’s good name?

These headlines are horrible.

And these AI companies don’t seem to understand…
… ((They were never honest, can’t make a lyric)
And all those fears they hold so dear
Will turn to reality in their stocks

Its almost like we were told very early on, that a machine cannot be held accountable and therefore a machine cannot be in management

Nah, why would anyone love AI when we can just–
Let’s all love Lain!
I was contemplating moving to NixOS, but then another fiasco just happened, masse me question what would one have to lose by switching to Qubes instead, considering the increasingly surveiling internet.

sometimes the bird just dies
Isn’t this how one of the subplots of Daggerfall started?

All your internet activity are belong to us
Just because sites use ReCaptcha, doesn’t mean you have to use a google account. Please, don’t mix these two. If a site starts demanding a google account, that is a site that has outlived its usability.
I stopped using Google because of it’s creepy invasive practices (have you checked your “my Acitvity” page yet?) and now I’m looking into blocking Google Analytics once I realized they keep asking for canvas context (so, hardware information). Similar to Meta’s Pixel. Both actual spyware plagues.
I won’t expect everyone to be tech savvy. But Friends don’t let friends use the internet without Ad+Tracker Blockers. Either set up a Device-level DNS (ie AdGuard DNS, Quad9, etc) and/or Set up host-level blocking (like StevenBlack’s Unified Lists) you can do this at the device level, or local network level.

They are a terror “state”. They just have enough blackmail and money to force others to turn a blind eye
HOPEFULLY. The Fairphone 6+ picks up the work that The Mighty Cat has been doing and adds the missing pieces so that pmOS is a viable option.
The US is normal is now as old as ((the average lifespan of a civilization))
We can hope, and make our moves for something better

No one wants it.
If you consider the fact that for some devices it’s available in an unofficial capacity and people choose to run it but also that it still uses Google servers for things like NTP and that there is no guarantee that it’s completely de-googled. It’s understandable… Not to mention that they have an actual risk of stagnation if Google continues to close source more parts of the AOSP…
So, although it could be safe to use now with some modifications, especially in microg and removing any calls to google, it might not be the case in the near future.

On socials? Maybe. But I don’t think it’s the first. A particular geno-country said everyone one that they want out, is a terrorist.

I think it’s plenty fine to recommend a specific instance to people. It doesn’t need to be the main one either, it can even be yours:
I would agree. Though I’d personally avoid the main, and suggest them to check any other instance out, or maybe make one in main, and then maybe explore other instances for their particular interests (ie Art, Programmers, Game Dev, Music, Particular Culture, Particular Country, etc)
Not really. Probably because Matrix can “get away with” recommending some default software
That’s understandable. And would love to expand on this. My ideal way would be something like an intent:link (like fb:,ig:, geo:coo, rds, tel:, matrix: etc) something like… fedi:(host)/(content)? ie fedi:/lemmy.world/post/123456, fedi:pixelfed.social/username or similar?
But things get worse when it comes to Mastodon and Lemmy because usually instances tend to act as both data servers and clients
I think this could be fine, assuming they continue to show where the poster is from, and linking to that instance.
Then we need Graphene elsewhere
