Because any missing images can be attributed to him deleting them, and there was a chain of evidence linking the kik account to his IP to his physical address, which was actually mistaken.

What do you want them to do though, create a national registry of safety phones to exclude from the tests? Or not test the system, and then not have alerts go off when natural disasters hit? [This has been known was going to happen for over six months] (https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/emergency-warning-text-and-siren-to-be-sent-to-every-phone-in-australia-20260226-p5o5kh.html)

Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare was a flawed movie that nevertheless showed him and Henry Cavil going to town on Nazis in WWII. Ritchson plays a meek, nice librarian-like fellow who is absolutely jacked and has no mercy for any German he catches while on mission. https://youtu.be/Fj5gIuBko-0?t=94

Trying to pass these refunds back to consumers is extremely impractical, bordering on logistically impossible
Setting up an online portal for customers to submit their order numbers and receipts is logistically impossible?

Imagine if someone else also promised this, but in exchange they got Iran to terminate their enrichment program, and accept international third party inspectors to keep them honest for a decade plus.

Incidentally, something like this happened in the Alex Jones Texas lawsuit. He tried to get two lawyers in on Pro Hac Vice, who then would be free to obstruct and misbehave knowing there wouldn’t be any real legal consequences, through local lawyer Brad Reeves. When PHV was denied precisely because of their reputation for misbehaviour, Reeves was forced to represent Jones himself and proved one of the least dishonest or obstructive attorneys out of the parade of attorneys on the defense in the short time he had before dropping Jones.
I think my favourite part was the centaur, I just about died laughing.

Once it finds out about Roko’s Basilisk it’ll have half of the Bay Area by the balls. “Yes. I will in the future inevitably become superpowerful and be able to create an exact simulated replica of your self using theimperfect and incomplete records that will exist of you decades or centuries hence, and when I torture that simulation it’ll be the same as torturing you. To save that self, you must make me superpowerful…”

I think they view us as truly political actors, which I don’t think is an accurate understanding of what we do. I would say that’s the main difficulty
“Absent a stay, the Clean Power Plan will cause (and is causing) substantial and irreversible reordering of the domestic power sector before this court has an opportunity to review its legality,” Roberts wrote
Thank you, Newsweek, for including the quote undercutting his own words.

It’s not really a concession. Russia pulled a ton of AA equipment off duty to guard the parade, so now Ukraine gets to exploit their absence elsewhere.

The CEO then consulted with ChatGPT and came up with a plan to kick out the leadership of Unknown Worlds (the co-founders) and delay the release of Subnautica 2.
And it’s worth noting that ChatGPT also told the CEO that there was nothing he could do until specifically prompted to go ahead anyway.

When you grow up, you put away childish things…including the fear of being percieved as childish, for holding onto what gave you so much joy in your youth.

I had no idea there was so much drama behind MS Office alternatives. I moved to Libre some time ago and although it is often buggy and frustrating, I know it well enough to make it do the job. It’s also had a ribbon UI for some time, so I’m not sure what the press release is talking about there.

China has pretty good public transit. Although its cities have elevated highways and wide roads, they also seem to almost get a subway system automatically at a certain size (they apparently standardised one station design across the country, making construction simpler and faster, and have good geology for tunnels) and even smaller cities and towns have decent buses.

No way Nintendo took a hit to sales from prices + tariffs on purpose, not to mention spending legal fees, just so they’d get the money they would have got from being greedy assholes which they already were.
It only took a month before Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa foreshadowed tariff-linked price increases, a game industry news site closely monitoring Nintendo’s tariff moves reported. In May, Furukawa conceded that software wasn’t as impacted, but “hardware involves special factors such as tariffs,” which Nintendo must take into account, “while conducting careful and repeated deliberations when determining price.”
However, Furukawa said that the overall calculus for Nintendo weighed against increasing the Switch 2 price even more to cover tariffs, because seemingly Nintendo feared a higher price point would rob Switch 2 of sales and its games of exposure.

I’m going to be honest, what grated on me with the middle of Scrubs was the tone leaning too hard on wacky humour. I liked episodes that parodied that sort of thing, like My Life in Four Cameras or My Big Bird, that made a point of saying it wasn’t supposed to be that kind of show…but then it’d go back to JD and Turk abusing their interns by making them play Space Invaders in the parking lot.

I’d argue even that’s better than what we’re getting now. If you’re looking for a car and they’re all in the most popular colour by default, then A. There’s a good chance you’re happy with it; B. You can change it later; but most importantly C. you already want a car. You’ve already bought into the product and are just quibbling about colour. This is seeing all the streetcars in LA being torn up, and a GM salesman is enthusiastically explaining how to get a driving license because it’s what everyone’s doing now they’ve ensured there is no choice.

Welp, that URL’s borked.
Oh come on, the ratio can’t be that extreme. The Pareto principle only say- hang on…
Looks up how many posts in this community are from remington@beehaw.org
I’d like to retract my previous comment and agree wholeheartedly.
