The title is obvious clickbait
Let me start by saying that I don’t support the Israeli attacks and ground invasion in Palestine. Moving on
The article’s main point is about Israel’s “Hannibal directive”. This measure allows the harm of Israeli forces to avoid hostages being taken. in practice the sentiment is that “a soldier is better dead than captured”. In October 7 the order to take the Hannibal directive was given. There are accounts of soldiers bombing Hamas’s forces that were in the process of capturing Israeli soldiers or civilians. Also as a result of the directive, damage was caused in civilian areas killing civilians
While it’s clear by the way the article is written that there is a heavy bias against Israel, I believe the claims about the Hannibal directive to be mostly true.
Here’s the part where you form your opinion. The act of killing your own people to avoid a capture instinctively sounds terrible. But also consider what it means to be captured and likely tortured for an indeterminate time.
Your opinion might fall between “Israel is the devil itself” or “this is a sad tactic but it’s a part of war”
I’m not here to give you my opinion but to ask you to look at all sides. Don’t allow yourself to have an opinion before considering both perspectives. Critical thinking and methodical argumentation are severely lacking in society.
My objective here is to go against this sort of angry, fear mongering, nasty articles. I’m so tired of this kind of writing. Please, let’s stop enabling this. Lastly I’ll just say, stop the war. Take a deal, return the hostages. Holy fuck I’m so tired of this.
The Right’s opinions are not fact based, so you cannot convince them with facts
Most rightwing supporters are driven by their emotions, and fall prey to fear mongering and emotional manipulation related to their already existing beliefs like racism and xenophobia.
To change emotional based beliefs you need to use compassion. They are not your enemy. They are misguided and manipulated souls that need help.
Treat them as your best friend
They won’t be open to arguments if they think you’re the devil. So you have to be their friend.
It’s not necessary to explain everything to them. You can’t change someone’s world view in one conversation. Just show that you’re a reasonable person that is trying to understand them. Gently ask them what their beliefs are and don’t be confrontational. With a bit of time they will open their eyes by themselves.
Not easy. but I think that this is what effectively creates change.
Why shouldn’t people use windows?
You can’t expect the average person to be tech savvy enough to use Linux and most people cannot afford a Mac. Especially in developing countries.
Windows is the best OS for the average person. Just not for advanced users such as researchers
All numbers are imaginary
They are a logistical concept, invented with the purpose of counting and calculating quantities.
Strictly speaking “Math” doesn’t exist in nature.
Circles are not round because of Pi. A triangle’s sides are not consistent because of the Pythagorean theorem. A thrown ball doesn’t travel in a parabola because of Algebra.
Math is a tool CREATED to understand natural phenomena. Though its logistical power is so strong that it can be stretched to understand almost everything that can be measured.
If a tree falls in the woods it vibrates the air at an audible frequence. Your ears absorb the vibrations and send a signal to your brain that we understand as sound. But the tree never makes a sound. The tree exists and interacts with the environment. Your brain interprets some of those interactions as sound.
You can think of the numbers as the sound. You can understand them clearly, but they’re just an interpretation of a natural phenomena.
people figure out the system
Only tech savvy people figure out how to go around this system. Roughly 80% ~ 90% of consumers will not realize what’s happening or won’t bother figuring out a solution.
Hell, even if only 10% of the consumers paid a slightly higher price the company still earns more by buying your data.
Statistics are on the side of the company. Buying consumer data is always the best strategy for them. The only thing that can limit abuse of privacy and consumer rights is government regulation.

So you’re saying that everyone that dislikes anime “just doesn’t get it” ? That’s a pretty silly take.
I’ve watched about 100 different shows and all kinds of anime genres over many years but I stopped because I can’t do it anymore
Most Anime shows suffer from the same issues. Personally The 2 most difficult things to deal with in are:
- Incredibly frustrating dialogue
I hate how characters speak in an extremely unrealistic and cringy way. It throws me off every time and I can’t connect with the characters. It doesn’t need to be realistic dialogue of course. I just think that anime is very far removed from acceptable dialogue, even for a show
- Shows never go beyond their basic tropes
Edgy anime is edgy and then nothing else. Every slice of life is just that and nothing else. Everything is extremely formulaic and you’re just left with the characters. And the characters are unidimensional. Please add some substance to the plot. Create more human and imperfect characters. Every character represents a trope and has no more nuance than that. The clumsy character is just clumsy. The bully character is just a bully. The main character is either the smartest or the most powerful being in the universe. EVERY TIME.
Seinen anime is a bit better regarding this last point. but it’s still too much. I can’t sit through an episode without cringing several times. Especially over the dialogue
You’re not looking at this correctly. No one congratulates themselves for returning the cart.
The point here is that the simple act of returning the shopping cart is the baseline of ethical behavior. This is just illustrating that society’s individualism is so strong that this simple act of spending 10 seconds to keep the place in order is often ignored.
Of course people that return the shopping cart can be ignorant assholes as well. But the point is that this extremely basic act is severely lacking in society. Therefore we can’t expect, as you said, more advanced ethical values. Such as using one’s time and energy to promote changes to other foreign countries
His cows gave birth. What do you mean traumatized?
Your right to free speech ends when it turns into terrorism, racism or a call for a coup.
There are some things that should be banned, such as the twitter accounts that promoted the attempt at a coup in Brazil in Jan 8 2023.
These are the accounts that the judge asked to be banned. After Twitter didn’t comply they started sending fines and eventually outright banning it.
Free speech doesn’t mean you can say literally anything. It means the government cannot punish you for your political views. But they can, and must punish racism and anti-democracy speech.
Also, it’s a misconception that a decentralized service cannot be banned. In fact it’s not hard at all
Just shit on the scale
Wait till you see Augustus Magnus the cat And his brother Brutus Maximus the other cat
Sure but in this case the judge is not censoring merely incorrect information. It’s written in the article that I assume you haven’t read
The judge ordered to remove the account of a militant group that attempted a coup after the party they support lost the election
This is exactly the kind of thing that should be censored. Anti democracy groups
Wow XD you are so quirky! Haha =P
Mine is a whale. Cause I’m big and fat and eat a lot of garbage and I shit everywhere XDDDD
