That would depend on if conduit or smurf tubing was used and if the cables went to the attic or basement and you have access to them. if not you may fund there are some sharp turns where some cables may get stuck.
Why do you want to change all of them to Cat6A? Cat 5 can do gigabit speeds?
To keep your network segregated and still have access to your devices, you need a router, switches and APs capable of doing VLANs. Then you would need to setup access rules in the firewall. Most standard home routers are unable to do this unless you are using custom firmware. I decided to use a separate gateway/firewall, managed switch and access points from Ubiquiti. I have four VLANs configured for trusted, IoT, cameras and guest devices. This can be more expensive than using a basic router, but you have more control over your network if you are inclined to put the time into configuring the network.
Have you tried powering everything off, waiting for 30 seconds, the starting with the modem, power it back on and allow it to fully boot. Then power on the firewall and allow it to fully boot, then the switch. Check if you have internet again.
If it still doesn’t work, check your settings(DHCP, firewall… etc.) to make sure nothing has changed.
If you place the Virgin hub into modem mode, then you will need to reset the Deco system and set them up as a standard mesh system. Not as APs
