  • Half time, Sevilla 1-0 up at the moment. Even in spite of a rough start due to PSV´s speed, they have managed to adapt to their pace by leaving more people around the midfield than in the first 10 minutes or so where the midfield was more forward than now. If they keep this up, they might just be able to avoid PSV using their speed to create dangerous shots a lot even if they will still happen. So not bad from them.

As for PSV, even if it might sound odd, i feel they might just need to switch to passes through lines or just short passing it till they can do the line breaking passes, it´s that what they tried at first is just not being effective at the moment in a consistent manner that you could say “oh yes they will get the 2 goals needed from the speed tactic” imo. Meanwhile with shorter passes or passes between lines, they could exploit Sevilla having more players on the midfield by trying to move them just enough via short passes for the line breaker ones and from there increase the shot frequency, if that makes sense. Other than that, i don´t see them getting more than 1 goal with how Sevilla have been playing once they adapted to what PSV was trying.

  • Half time, still 0-0. That was a fun sequence at the end with the number 8 of Sierra Leone just deciding “screw it, i will do it myself” and dodging 4 opponents, even leaving 1 in the floor. Jokes aside, yeah, Ethiopia probably need to rethink their defensive tactics because Sierra Leone are taking a lot of advantages of their mistakes there plus their own improvisation so yep, Ethiopia better find some way to not get put in so many problems, else it might end ugly for them. As for Sierra Leone, not bad from what i managed to see (entered in like minute 20 or so) in defense and progressing the ball for offense, specially the last 10 minutes with how Ethiopia didnt get that many shots. Just a bit more luck and they might find a goal.

  • So far it feels like while Ethiopia can do passes between lines well and just feel the better team quality wise in completing passes, due to how for the most part (of what i have seen) Sierra Leone have been able to get the ball clean, it doesn´t fully work until they do some trickery like with that free kick being taken fast almost resulting in a header goal off a center into the box, and on the other hand Sierra have honestly been doing well considering they could have scored a couple of minutes ago due to that miscomunication in the header between goalie and defender of the other team had their player shot at the net instead of trying a pass plus that might be me but it feels like Sierra Leone are good at improvising on the fly if a play on the attack doesnt work smoothly to keep the ball going in the attack no matter if a player from Ethiopia tries to stop them. Like, it feels pretty even so far imo.

  • Half time. Salernitana win 2-1 in a honestly entertaining game. Like, i can see this turning full on into a goalfest on the second half. I will say that Salernitana need to be careful with the crosses of Sassuolo since that led to the Sassuolo goal moreso than the speed they use to do centers into the box. As for Sassuolo, they need (imo) to not go so forwards into the attack to not get offside tricked like in the first goal or just not risk a counterattack ending in a Salernitana goal due to lack of defenders in their half even if they are still quite cunning to find other ways (the 2-0 being off a clever assist through some defenders) to score. All in all, second half is gonna be quite fun if we keep this level of action.
