Same games as on LED. What question is this?
It was the screen and the huge bezels that bothered me most with the deck. I was hoping for a 7.7" upgrade at some point in time, but no, the deck is apparently a disposable device according to Valve. Wasn’t the deck advertised as modular and upgradeable? Their insane sudden price drop makes selling and buying OLED also problematic. I’m pissed, created a ticket at their support and will pester them with chatgpt generated reasoning until I get at minimum an honest apology (or a discount 😉 ).
The price drop currently is insane. Was toying with the idea of selling and buying OLED too. Did observe yesterday a top shape 512 deck + original dock being sold for 380€ on Ebay. No thanks, not selling for that after not even a year.
I’m buying the Meta Quest 3 to have my huge virtual screen. I believe those are more capable than those xreal glasses.
Upgrading is not possible. I contacted Steam support and this is what they replied:
'Unfortunately the LED models are not compatible with the new OLED display, upgrade will not be possible.
Please note that the 64GB and 512GB Steam Deck LCD models are being phased out permanently discounted these models.
Sorry that we are unable to offer any upgrade alternative in this case.
If you have any further questions, please let us know - we will be happy to assist you.’
My 512 deck is currently on Ebay waiting to be sold for 66% of its initial price which is insane for less after a year and Steam to be blamed for the price drop they did this fast. Also for their crazy short availability time for the oled after their announcement kill our devices value for selling them. Crappy move of them. Wasn’t the deck marketed as modular with parts replaceable? Now it’s just a throwaway device in my eyes.
I wished the DeckHD (or Valve) would do a 720p screen with 7.7" to eliminate the bezels.
