As someone who suffers from CPTSD, I feel safe, definitely. No one has ever insulted, harassed or trolled me here, compared to reddit, where even safe spaces are overrun with trolls. The design of Lemmy also makes me less attached to my device, I don’t feel anxious about notifications and interacting with people, which was very common on reddit. When I signed up, I tossed a coin that it was either the place I’d been looking for or a repeat of the past. I’m also on Bsky, although I’ve never been on Twitter before because some people I follow on YouTube went there. I plan to host my own community in the future to escape the mainstream platforms. I have been banned from many social media sites for no apparent reason. I long for the days before mainstream media took over the internet.

They eventually do. Fascism encourages corruption and incompetence, social division and the fragmentation of non-governmental movements, local dissidents and autonomies. Mussolini was so incompetent that not only was Italy eventually invaded by the Allies and lost its sovereignty to the German Reich, but Benito himself was imprisoned, despite his escape he didn’t make it to Switzerland and was hanged by Communist partisans. Hitler, on the other hand, also encouraged corruption and division within his own structures to prevent people from allying against him or creating opposition. Hitler himself was an incompetent idiot who interfered in the work of his generals. To the end, Adolf believed he could win the war, and when he realised the shit he had created, he shot himself. Fascists aren’t smart or competent enough, they often rely heavily on people who can do things and who are bribed by the fascists to work with them. Hitler often used Göring’s upper class position and connections with prominent aristocrats to get his ideas through, as Hitler himself was just a peasant born in a village with little education and was even homeless for a time. Hitler relied heavily on people more competent than him in important positions to get what he wanted, because he could do shit on his own.

I don’t recommend Google Maps anymore. It’s a really shitty map. I’ve been reporting bugs for ages and they never fix them. Also the GPS is really terrible, it sets the road full of constant turns and forces you to drive on small narrow internal roads instead of normal open roads. The localisation option sucks too, it keeps showing me that I’m somewhere else and my position is always a few metres off and it’s so delayed that you don’t know if you’ve made a good turn or not unless you wait like half a minute. Also the glitches in the map, missing locations, blurry photos, random photos swapped around and extreme inconsistencies. It’s crazy that this shit is still being used. I bought a dedicated GPS for a car and in my phone and PC, I use OpenStreetMaps or its forks.

Facebook has banned just about everyone for everything. I logged into my account after several months of inactivity only to be permanently banned from the platform. It’s really ridiculous and absurd shit. But thanks to them, I found my way to Fediverse.
