  • That’s what I’ve been noticing for quite a while. Lemmy slowly became the very thing it tried proposing itself to be better than. But I guess that’s the cost and what happens when you got disgruntled users from Reddit coming here, just to shit up the place just because they either can or that is really how they are everywhere.

Really can’t tell you how many antagonizing users I’ve ran across in all of my attempts to socialize around the fediverse, especially Lemmy. Oh and the power-tripping moderation is alive and well, definitely something from Reddit. It’s almost like Reddit gave them a reason to leave it, just so they’d come here and repeat everything that went wrong.

  • I recalled back about a couple years ago about how we were going back to the moon.

And even then I was like “…Why?” When, we already have had a good idea about it all this time from the Apollo missions and all the stuff we sent up to it over the years.

It was exciting for us back then to go to the moon because:

    • It had never been done before.

    • It was literally a Space Race.

So those two alone got everyone invested and excited. Nowadays? What are we gaining from this? I don’t think anything.

  • I can’t say I miss it from having once been the go-to platform. I’ll trade radio over to having listening to whatever is on my media stick, PodBean or Sirius in comparison.

I’ve only gone to radio when I don’t have either of those things, it’s just white noise. I try listening to sports stuff, I just get annoying hosts with low-IQ callers calling in, I get music stations that repeat shit over and over .etc

And it’s like, I don’t miss this as much as I thought.

  • The last time the U.S. had a draft was in 1973, for the Vietnam War, which caused institutional and ideological damage that this country is still dealing with today. A draft in this era would be even more catastrophic.

Not if you’re a Republican politician whose idea of war is just throwing the lesser-than of the populace into America’s idea of a meat grinder, based on class. Because that’s who the target audience of this draft will be for all and any war America goes on about. The age limit being pushed to 42, just broadens the scope.
