Well I think the term ‘8’ and ‘10’ are far too rigid for what players might be doing. For example: Enzo is not an 8 in the same way De Bruyne is an 8 and De Bruyne isn’t an 8 in the same way Mount is an 8. Some of the CMs might do a lot of work tracking back while others might not do as much, some have more creative responsibilities than others and so on and so on. It heavily depends on the system they’re playing in.
