Also is a good idea to AFK in the area so that there’s more time for the grass to grow. At least if that’s possible, I understand that it’s not possible for everybody to AFK for long periods of time.

I wasn’t able to do that even, Firefox with HSTS is dumb and goes against user freedom by failing to give a meaningful bypass method. Though I was able to get around it.

FYI people won’t tell you how to disable HSTS enforcement, just delete the contents of the file SiteSecurityServiceState.txt then set permissions of it to read only and owned by root for good measure. Then the unbypassable warnings are able to be bypassed same as any other http warning on an https site.

Just wondering, are you the one who built the farming structure and stone building behind this ruined structure? I repaired the two structures because they weren’t badly damaged and they’re still there, if they’re yours I can put up a sign with your name on them, and if you don’t want them I can just mark them as available for new players to move in.

The CADT model at it’s finest. It’s funny because Linux is considered the de facto choice for legacy hardware because it runs so well on it, or at least used to. The fact is the development model used by distros (and apparently also the Linux kernel as well) is absolutely awful, and it inevitably hurts movements that depend on it such as Permacomputing.

I can’t see them, does one have to be using the default texture pack to see it, or does Faithful also do it?

Still seems very sudden to update the main instance to 0.19 considering there hasn’t been a formal release and it is still very buggy as @GenderNeutralBro@lemmy.sdf.org pointed out the Instance block feature isn’t even functional, but more importantly almost none of the Apps out there actually work with this version.

Also broke the inbox on desktop, was showing empty for me even though it shows the notifications. I had to manually go to the thread to see this message (lucky I keep tabs open).

I agree that this unannounced upgrade is quite the shock to the system and also lemmy 0.19 hasn’t even officially dropped yet so it seems kind of strange to update to it now.

The Liftoff app, very recently stopped working and wouldn’t let me log back in. Checked the site and realized why.

Is this a bug related to updating to 0.19? I just noticed they did that and my account on the app immediately stopped working.

According to Goolse it’s been that way for years, and the person naver came back so he, mcornick, and I figured it would be alright and we all worked together to fill in holes, flatten the land, and also take down the house and put the materials in chests on the sidewalk in case the person comes back. So far there has been quite a bit of progress in transforming the area. Maybe I’ll take a screenshot and post it here in a bit.

They learn how to program in a more efficient way that makes better use of limited memory and CPU cycles. Which frankly is something modern programmers and game designers could very much benefit from considering how bloated and unoptimized much of modern software is, probably because they didn’t need to think about whether computers can actually run it.

Yeah me, goolse, and mcornick were cleaning up and it seems like it happened a very long time ago.

We put the materials and the items in chests on the sidewalk in case the person from before wants them. goolse also decided to flatten the hill to the left so the road would be on the surface instead of being a tunnel.
