My Toyota Camry was intermittently running rough, and losing speedometer and AC functionality.
Went to online Toyota forums and read others paying dealers upwards of $2000 to “fix” the same issue. It didn’t work as it was the wrong fix.
I went to YouTube and found some guy in California showing exactly which part went bad and how to fix it.
I ordered the same part on eBay from an Oklahoma junk yard for $120 and spent less than 10 minutes replacing the ABS module myself. Mind you I’m a complete noob with car repairs. The fix has held up for the last 3 or 4 years.
The dealer’s price gouging is one thing. Their sheer incompetence in fixing the very products they sell is what’s frightening to me.
