The only games I play close to launch are games I play with friends. I always buy single player games much later on sale.

Anyone else bought a Steam Deck because new AAA games release broken and are more expensive than ever?
Kinda? A lot of new AAA games just don’t interest me as much. EA does release some good games, but their the EA app on PC is dogshit. And Ubisoft just only releases open world busywork that I dislike, and their launcher is shit too. That already cuts down on a lot of games. Unfortunately, it also limits older games since they forced them into the new launchers as well.
I’m mostly going back through “old” games I never really had time for due to adult life. Just finished Rise of Tomb Raider, which was great. Plenty of side content to dig my teeth in, but still just a 20-hour game, which is perfect for me.
Continuous aiming is going to be a bit difficult to implement with Gyro. The “Joystick” option is the one you’ll need, though.
“As Joystick” is the smart one that outputs as joystick values, but stops when you hold it still.
“Joystick” literally just straight up sends the jaw/pitch data to a virtual joystick. Which means that leaning it forward will keep the “joystick” in that position until you move it back. I just tried it in Tomb Raider, and it seems to work, but it you’ll need to do some tweaking with the settings to get it right. Works fine vertically, but I have issues getting good output using horizontal movements.
It’s very region dependent. They likely parrot whatever their postal partner promises them, as they don’t deliver the packages themselves.
In the Netherlands, the estimation was spot on, but I live 40 minutes from the EU fulfillment center.
Yes, you can set it to directional pad mode. Which triggers different commands based on tilt direction. You could leave everything except tilt forward empty and then trigger forward on “w”.
Alternatively, in joystick mode you can set it to output left joystick, and then set the minimum output value for the x axis to 1. This would essentially make it so you can move forward and backward by tilting the device.
No issues so far, but I do always save the game before I do.
I do use the Decky Pause Games plugin, which pauses the game’s process before suspending the deck.
I only got the Injustice 2/MK11 bundle.
Just waiting for other wishlist items to get discounted far enough for me to get. In the meantime I’ve got plenty to play.
I do the same thing. I only check if wishlisted items are on sale, if not; move on.
Because most of those expenses go to expensive things like motion capture, voice acting, art, and marketing. And it’s pretty much an arms race in pushing the boundaries.
Devs and artists get pushed pretty hard to deliver bigger and better every time. Unfortunately, they don’t always get the time and means to do so. There’s a big disconnect between upper management and the actual devs/artists making the game.
