10 months agoQuestion to fellow hoarders: Will you really trust SSDs to hold your data vs mechanical drives?
No. First of all, my current steam deck does what I want it to do. This new version just does it slightly better.
Secondly, a steam deck is a limited life device. Eventually, it will wear out, most likely the battery first. When it does, I will either get the current version whatever that is, or wait for the steam deck 2 if its been announced and is on its way.
Thirdly: I’m not pushing this thing to the limit. The steam deck’s function is to let me play slightly older PC games on the go. I don’t try to play current AAA games on this thing. Some folks do! Good for you guys! I get four hours of battery life when I play the original deadspace! I can play halo in a portable! Great! I’m not looking at this thing as my everything machine or only console. I have a PC for that stuff.
