I agree that “authentic” isn’t really the word for this. They seem fixated on the term when it’s really just non-traditional media/marketing but even that is nothing new nowadays.

Played a bit of Tom Clancy’s The Division, slowly clearing the side missions and leveling up. Have cleared the level 20 main mission, and I think level cap is 30, so still a bit left.
TD1 is a great game and it turned 10 years old the other day. The snowy city is beautiful even though its a quarantine zone :/

I really hope there is an upgrade option or at least a heavy discount for us that already own the game. Otherwise I’ll just wait a year or whatever as I’m not buying it full price again.
You could keep the chain going and pass it down to somebody else?

If you have any old hardware/laptop laying around then use that until you nail down what you actually want to do and need.

Thanks. Other people say 6700XT is possible and it’s a good card and will pair nicely with your PC. I’m not in the US so can’t comment on price but even a RX6600XT/6650XT 8GB is great for 1080p as an alternative.

6700XT is a good card but what are the rest of your specs?

The Xbox dashboard is already a mess so I hope this doesn’t make it even more shit. I know it will though.
I don’t have any recommendations buy will say that my watch is one thing that I’ve changed over the last 2 years to be “just” a watch. I used to have a Huawei and Samsung and use it for tracking everything but I decided to get a Citizen Eco-Drive and haven’t looked back since. Can’t get more private than that :D

My goal this year is to finish off all the games I’ve left hanging so Pikmin is my first one on the Switch list. I’ve started all 4 but I’ll at least complete them in order eventually :D

Currently the new ratings will only apply to games released after June. “Without applying the rules to current games the policy will do little to protect the children who are already playing them,” Tofield said.
Overall I think the changes are positive but I think they definitely should apply to all and not just new releases.
Games lacking any way for users to report or block players online will receive a PEGI 18 rating.
Also this is interesting. I’m not sure how common it is to have no controls for this in a game but it should certainly make devs/publishers think seriously about it.

Thanks. I didn’t know about that one. It looks like a weird kids kart racer version of Rollcage but I’m going to give it a try.

GRIP is a spiritual successor and is ,in my opinion, a better game than the originals. They actual teased a sequel just last week called GRIP XR which is exciting.

I remember and loved the demo too. It was a perfect showcase but the actual game is a little rough around the edges.

Here are the download links mentioned on the podcast. I play both often and they work great.

I associate them with WindowBlinds and adding a start menu to Windows 8. Probably haven’t thought about them since.
Most open world games I can’t seem to get past a few hours. I’ve started RDR 2 about 4 times now, Watch Dogs/Assassins Creed games probably more than that and even stuff like Forza Horizon (I love FH1 though) is part of that too.

Death Stranding with horses is what came to mind for me too so I’m very interested in this one.

Fable 2
I’m a few hours in and its a real throwback to 2009 or whenever as I haven’t played it since launch. It feels very familiar but I don’t really remember much about the game. Once thing to note is that after playing Fable Anniversary, Fable 2 definitely has a vibe of being brightly coloured world but often times quite bland with nothing to show in the open world.

Lots of short and random sessions on my handheld. Colin McRae 2.0, PSO, WWE No Mercy and many more. Dreamcast isn’t really viable but some games can be playable with some tweaking but It’s great for PSX and below though. I set up syncthing to backup saves and screenshots so I can easily access them on my PC too :)

Halo comes to mind straight away. The way the enemies react, dodging out the way or charging towards you was something special. Also the music score and freedom it gives you in the semi-open levels to play differently.
