  • Great video with good points, we’ll have to see if the monopoly stays good for gamers in the next 10 years, its pretty obv from the video that the status quo is great for valve and good for gamers, but horrible for competition in the platform space. Valve is a monopoly like how android and ios are a duopoly. Great for customers and the companies around the OS’s, bad for competition in the market. (Does competition matter if a monopoly it benefits the customer?)

I think the switch to usb-c from a is a huge e-waste disaster in progress, there are legit good uses for a c-c cable, but its not really worth fucking over a third world nation that has to take all the “outdated” fully-functional usb-a tech we throw away. Not to mention the overall cost to the user to replace it all over their lifetime. Personally I only have 1 type-c power brick for the singular device that can do 68w charging. (I only use it if I’m going out, other that that its 5w-9w type-a chargers.) (Not to mention the dongle hell people go through to support type-a on c only laptops!)

  • Moon rise is used the same as sun set, and in most contexts has nothing to with the phase of the moon or sun. The phrase “it was well past moonrise” indicates that the moon is at it’s peak in the sky. To say that it indicates anything else would show a lack of understanding of how the sun and moon move around the sky. A phrase like “the big bright moon was imposing on the sky” would show the reader that the moon is a full moon and the largest thing in the sky. (That is unless we’re talking about the day-night cycle on a different planet, then I take back everything.)
