“So much promise”?!

Are Greens appeasing Labor in a secret deal? This support is out of character with their stance on privacy.

For instance, Greens were the only ones to push against the “Identify and Disrupt Bill” (which newspapers ignored in favour of “Freedom” March dramas).

    Minister for finance and the public service Katy Gallagher: rejects racial identifiers in digital ID legislative amendments. This would have verified people as indigenous for the purpose of welfare cards.

    Also…

    banks want to charge consumers every time they securely access their accounts by way of an authentication tax. The deal is a double-edged sword because as keen as banks are, the application of fees on transactions may invoke a warranty they are safe, which is in itself challenging.

    and some more good news…

    The government will also support amendments that confirm the voluntary use of digital ID and ensure that the alternative ways to verify ID to access services are easy to use and don’t disadvantage those who do not want a digital ID
