    Yeah, I imagine the bus, without anything in front of the driver to absorb any impact energy, is probably less safe than the average old car.

    The bug on the other hand, with its engine at the rear and light build, has quite a good crumple zone to protect the passengers, probably better than average at the time, even if the front wasn’t specifically designed for that purpose.

    I used it mostly in city traffic, I doubt I or my family were in any danger.
