This feels kinda pathetic to talk or complain about. It’s a game, it’s filled with gmers, and it’s filled with roleplaying gmers at that.
But the CIU/PPH are the ones who decided to include a politics channel on their discord. From a cursory glance, these channels aligned with leftist beliefs, something that’s important to me if I’m going to engage with the social aspect of any game cause I fucking hate trying to socialize in games unless its under very controlled circumstances like what I was kind of expecting. I know what god damn g*mers are like and I fucking hate them.
Turns out CIU/PPH are like a step or two removed from these types based on current vibes. Most people were excited to talk about the charlie kirk assassination and that passed the vibe test well enough until mods and squadron leaders stepped in, saying that celebrating or making fun of his death was “ghoulish shit”. Eat my ass, Duke. This same guy was in another channel on CIU’s server defending his use of anti-feminist language when it made other users uncomfortable - I think the interaction went something like “why would communists use this kind of language” and his response was “I’m not communist”.
Fine, people wanna larp, but if you’re going to larp, why the fuck do you have discussion of real life politics for a faction explicitly aligned with in game communists? What kind of people do you think that’s going to predominately attract? And why am I the dumb asshole that keeps trying to socialize in games?
Sorry for the rant about something so inconsequential, just annoyed.
