    Hot take: countries that don’t speak English natively where they teach children English in school below the age of ten are too Americanized/westernized.

    Same goes for countries where they have to have the English translations on all road signs and information signs

      i think it’s more of a tell that we are literally educated to serve the USian market, not necessarily means that our countries are americanized or westernized. Tho at this point, mandarin should be part of the curriculum too, i would say it’s far more important than english at this point since for really 99% of industries, if you want to acquire machinery or some input, you’re going to need to get a chinese supplier.

        Here in the Philippines, it’s both😭

        When I was in Elementary, our schools had an English-Only Policy where speaking our national language (Tagalog) outside of Filipino classes was penalized. We also have an entire market for overseas work (OFWs or Overseas Filipino Workers)

      Don’t kid yourself the DSA organization is a trap. There are comrades in DSA but the only reason to join is to help comrades see they are in a dead end energy sink that is controlled opposition to sap them of their revolutionary potential. If you don’t get kicked out for being too radical you aren’t doing it right.

    I got a new job y’all! Thanks for the well wishes last week. Comes with a decent raise, better benefits, unionized, more predictable schedule, & less job responsibilities. It’s also good for a resume builder to get where I want to go in my career. Very happy.

    I start my vacation now - my cousin is gonna do my hair & I’m gonna take a nice long day trip on Wednesday. Then I leave the state to visit my best friend for a few days. Things are looking up!

    Well it’s back to society again after travelling around for nearly two weeks. I spent my time in some pretty isolated places where even my phone’s network couldn’t reach so apart from some camp site wifi I didn’t have any connection to the outside world. Didn’t really follow the news either. It was nice spending time away from it all, just focussing on the day and on whether I could surf that day or not. It was an almost spiritual experience to just experience life in a small town surrounded by nothing, vibing with like minded people with not a care in the world.

    But back to reality now. On my way back I found myself stopping at a gas station near a large city and it quickly smelled like home again. Exhaust fumes, grease, loud noises, sirenes, honking, etc. I had to eat one of their plastic looking sandwiches, which made me a little depressed.

    At home there is apparently a drought. Several bodies of water around our parks have completely dried out. The trees are having a hard time and there isn’t really any serious rain around soon. Fun times.

    should all go as planned, i’m going to be a full member of PSL in the very foreseeable future! it’s not much in the grand scheme of the struggle, but working with and connecting with a community of beautiful souls who are genuinely committed to building this thing right here in the backyard of my smallish city has really been something 🥲

        Well, I assumed since even uk has people actively protesting, germany would be the legit vassal central. I agree that france has similar dark patterns.

    The army is increasing drills it seems. I was just vibing with my morning coffee when like 5 helicopters flew over, making a lot of noise. A while ago an airplane flew over pretty low. On top of that they accidentally torch natural parks from time to time. Fuckers.

      Trump will call Putin and he’ll say “I told you they would try to come up with some bullshit to start WW3.” Trump believes Putin over the yapping dogs in europe. Trump will tell europe, “You guys do what you want but we are not helping.”

      Honestly I think the whole thing might have been intentional and Russia is just telling europe “put up or shut up but daddy isn’t coming to help you.”
