This is a well-deserved, “I told you so”. The next major number that would blow my socks off would be 50. And then after that, maybe even 100. Could you even imagine reusing a booster 100 times? If I remember correctly, they said they would be amazed if they managed to get 10 times out of it. And that’s what they were aiming for.
I wonder if 50 will happen before the Falcon fleet starts to lose Starlink launches to Starship. I feel like 30-40 might be the max because of that.
That’s a good point. I wonder if they will keep falcon around even after Starship starts regularly launching. Maybe there’s some things that Starship is just too big for or something like that that they decide to use falcons instead.
I can definitely see Dragon and DoD launches lingering on Falcon through to 2030
Ooooh, that’s a cool long-exposure shot in the thumbnail there.
Lol. The argument against reuse was basically “it’s too hard”.
I can’t wait for more rockets to refly (New Glenn, Neutron, Stoke Nova) so ULA can get left in the dust for not innovating. The natural lifecycle of MBA megacorps like ULA’s parents needs to end once they’ve milked it dry and refused to invest.
