Beyond it not actually mattering what others think, and as others have said - the chance of anyone even noticing being miniscule, if someone looking at you really assumes that only women can use “women’s” hygiene products, then they probably also assume you’re buying it for a woman in your life and couldn’t care less…

Doubt anyone would remember 5-10 minutes later that you were even there. When I worked retail, I had forgotten the previous customer by the time I was dealing with another.

        • Here in California, its normal for guys to get hygiene products for wives, partners, sisters, etc. Though in the cities no one cares who wears what either.

I’d assume in other states it’s normal for guys to do the household shopping. Maybe not in Texas or Florida.

trans man here, I also prefer to smell like raspberries or coconuts over uh “sports”, “extreme” or “blue”. Though sometimes you get a nice smelling product in the men’s section, like strong citrus or foresty, those are good

I used to gravitate towards more woodsy or foresty scents myself. Looking back, I think it was because that was the closest I could get to floral without being too “girly”.

As a cis dude: Yeah women’s deodorant is quite nice to wear

A lot of men’s deodorants (when they do say what they smell like) are shit like leather, bourbon, smoke, tobacco, engine bay, etc. And our shampoo selection ain’t much better.

Another cishetman here, and I even like outdoorsy shit and the smell of grass and lumber and all that.

But hell yes I would rather smell like vanilla or candy than whatever the fuck men are supposed to smell like. The deodorant I’m using now is supposed to be a lemon cookie scent, but it smells just like froot loops or fruity pebbles cereal. It kicks ass.

For soaps I really don’t care about the scent. But for something that’s going to stick with me like deodorant or beard balm/oil, it needs to either smell pleasant, be unscented, or have the weakest damn fragrance possible. Most products I’ve tried on my beard have been actively offensive to me, to where I give the entire thing away or chuck it. The stuff I use now is supposed to smell like booze, but it is so weak I never notice it except when actively applying it to my face.

          100%.

I basically stopped buying men’s deodorant because my wife bought some dove cucumbery thing and when mine was out I borrowed it once.

          never went back lol
