I’d like to see some kind of chart that compares Republican lawmakers who have voted against women/trans/gay rights, and subsequently been caught in controversy around sex with that specific group (anti-gay gets caught with a guy) VERSUS how many registered Democrat lawmakers in the same scenario.(anti-gay legislation, caught with dude type deal)

The Moms For Liberty founder having ongoing lesbian sex is the cherry on top. It’s tough keeping track of all the awful shit they do.

Shit like that always baffles me. Like at least with the pedos like gaetz they have to hide because nobody is cool with it, but people like that lady have to know that if she wasn’t such a bigot nobody would give a shit. You want a bisexual polycule? Who fucking cares‽ On the left it’s not a problem.

The thing is: the left won’t vote for them because they have no actual policy ideas.

So they position themselves as a right wing and throw the correct red-meat to the crowd and boom, now you’re in office and can do all the insider trading and/or leaking to journalists to curry favour for a future book deal.

          It’s a grift. That’s it.

You’re literally commenting this on the day when trump got a $400 million dollar judgement landed against him… Even if he wants to keep trying his bullshit now, he’ll have to post over 100% of what he owes to continue.

You should really look into the case as to why that won’t happen. The judge took special care to ensure Trump has no way to weasel out of paying: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/ny-fraud-case-damages-pay-millions-judge-engoron-rcna135283

Tldr: judge appointed two independent people, one to monitor his personal wealth and the other to monitor his company’s finances. All of his assets in New York are completely frozen, as Trump moved all of what he owned to his company. He did this to claim he does not have a high net worth, but it backfired as he cannot use or sell his assets to pay the bill.

He can try to appeal, but 1) the only way he can do that is by claiming the case was a mistrial, that he was treated unfairly, and 2) he must put 110% of what he owes into a bond that will be held by the court during the appeal process. There are other things I didn’t go over, just know the dude is actually fucked.

I want to believe this is going to happen, but I’ve just learned by now that Trump always finds a way to weasel out even when it seems there’s no way to weasel out.

I’m sure he’ll be able to convince some judge that he was treated unfairly for political reasons, and all that will happen is that he’ll be rewarded with millions of conservative votes.

Yes, I’m cynical when it comes to Trump.

I really believe that in the normal functioning of the court, that this would actually happen.

However I’m going to wait until the first dollar leaves his account before celebrating anything.

My partner says I’m not allowed to consider anything like this a success until he suffers an actual consequence.

Being issued a fine in this case is not yet a consequence.

Until SCOTUS pulls a reverse card bc at least 2 of them are documented to be bought and paid for.

He’ll just keep funneling RNC money to do whatever he wants.

None of this is legal and none of it matters. He has 8 years of demonstrated proof the law doesn’t create consequences to him.

This case cannot go to SCOTUS. They do not have jurisdiction over this type of case. He also cannot use RNC money to pay this fine and there is a special monitor watching over all of his finances to ensure he does not.

You can deny it all you want, this case is the first real punishment for him, but it’s only the beginning. He’s been avoiding stuff for 8 years, like you said, but no more.

Gaetz will be crushed. He’s committed several “sins” that even the Republican’s will not tolerate nor forgive; publicly exposing the coke fueled parties is one and sending the GoP into a spiral with his crusade against McCarthy is another.

I imagine Cancun Cruz is allowed because he’s mostly self sufficient. He strikes me as the type that knows enough of the ins and outs that the other leaders don’t have to babysit him and tell him things like “don’t admit to the crack and orgies”.

Madison Cawthorn got ostracized after not kowtowing to the local republican powerbroker + after outing other republicans as drug addicted sex addicts.

The second point might not even have been an issue, if he hadn’t ran in the wrong district in his state. It does seem like there’s no amount of debauchery bad enough for the republican party, anything goes and they count on the right wing (+Russian) alternate fact propaganda machine to not mention it or to muddy the waters if the scandal has become too big. The big lie of “both sides” is still going strong.

I’m sure there’s a line around the block of women who were paid for sex parties. How is this not prostitution? Oh yeah, they’re politicians and rules don’t apply to them.

She claims she wasn’t paid for sex but to attend the party and that the sex was consensual. There are certainly other ethical/moral/legal concerns about this whole thing, but if you are honestly looking for why this wouldn’t be considered prostitution…well, you simply have to read the article and the answer is pretty obvious.

        Having consensual sex: legal.

Having consensual sex for money: illegal.

Having consensual sex for money but there’s also a cameraperson: legal.

I definitely agree it’s nonsensical, but it makes a little bit more sense than that. Consensual sex being filmed is free speech as long as it’s not “obscene” (whatever that fucking means).

You can tell who has been around the block a few times and who hasn’t based on how trustworthy someone thinks Matt Gaetz is.

Dude looks like every frat boy cokehead rapist creep that I met in college. How did he even manage to get as far as Congress is beyond me. I wouldn’t even trust him to tell me what the good brand of pomade is.
