Unpopular opinion: why aren’t links to articles treated as “advertisements”, especially when the article lies entirely behind a paywall?
The post about the article spreads the message about the goods attempting to be sold, which in that case is a visit to the page.
Perhaps an exception could be made for those who at least offer a portion of the article for free, but often posts on Lemmy don’t show even a single word of the article (could be an issue with the linking code though, I dunno).
