On a day often filled with consumerism and shallow romanticism, this manifesto from a comrade in New York City explores love as a foundation for militancy.
___Clicking through to the ‘why (the dedication)’ of the text about love one reaches a text about the suicide of a young woman. I must say that it kept me up all night, probably because someone (on the same site as the above mentioned text) offers poetry courses (for a fee) and claims on the main page that they look for ‘tragic’ poets. This reeks of something I really don’t like. My relationship with poetry is not great, since it sometimes seems to lead more people into suicide than into action, and I believe poetry is very much not something that can or should be taught for money, especially not with the aim of creating ‘tragic’ poets. Sorry for all those who lost a close one.
