why tf do they get a pay off at all?! It seems mad this “rule” even exists in the first place and now needs new law to counter it. When was it put in place in the first place?
It better they quit than have them refuse to leave because of their own personal financial situation.
This policy and headline are designed to argue people that don’t think these situations through. If political positions put people in difficult finical positions only those that are already wealthy can take up offices. This would be bad for democracy. Our political system is already very prone to aristocracy it doesn’t need any more encouragement.
“quit in disgrace” or “fired for incompetence and corruption” are the same thing
