    Yeah it’s very annoying that for almost any situation there isn’t a convenient word for “using a non-specific search engine to find information online” other than … that.

      I tried looking up some alternatives. You know, searching the web. I even checked online, but I couldn’t find anything.

        Basically my point. None of these are as versatile as that one.

          I don’t have any problem using those. A lot of times, your can just say “search”, and people will know it’s a web search because it’s implied.

            Good for you. I guess alphabet’s propaganda has got me too far gone. I don’t think any of those sound natural in most contexts.
