No sooner has Rozemyne’s fourth year at the Royal Academy begun than she ends up somewhere unexpected. How will the saint respond when an incident in Ahrensbach leaves everyone else feeling defeated?
I thought it might have something to do with her praying more at the academy shrines over the rest of the year and Rozemyne somehow being aware of the change subconsciously and her conscious mind interpreting it this way.
Or maybe it’s just Rozemyne’s body finally going into puberty and thus her becoming a bit more susceptible to the attractiveness of other people, particularly ones she didn’t see every couple of days and thus didn’t get used to in such small increments it fell below notice.
I wonder if her mothers intentionally decided to delay “the talk” due to jureve sleep or if it was another case of both of them assuming the other one would do it and thus neither doing it.
Don’t forget the third reason for delaying “the talk”: although she is finally growing again she does still look very young for her age. They both probably subconsciously forgot that she’s due to have that talk.
I find that a bit unlikely. No matter how she might look, the moment she got engaged, something must have clicked in the adult’s minds. But even if they really forgot subconsciously the first time around, her now getting into a second engagement should really have been a wake-up call for what they failed to do the first time around, especially with how at least Elvira was already in a “now or never” mode, conscious of the things she wouldn’t be able to do or say once Spring arrives and Rozemyne leaves the duchy.
When she returns for Ehrenfest’s Dedication Ritual and the final preparations for her move, it is most likely the last time either of her (noble) mothers will have the chance to have a proper talk, before she gets married in a couple of years. Sure, they might technically see and briefly talk to her at the interduchy tournament, but that won’t afford the privacy to have that kind of conversation.
