Hey r/sakartvelo

I love smoking cigars every now and then, especially when on vacation, as I am now, however my cigars were taken at the airport (had to leave them to family in my home country otherwise they would get thrown out) so now I don’t have any cigars. I’ve been to Cuban Cigar House on Akhvlediani street, and cigars there range from 70 GEL all the way up to 150+ GEL, which is much more expensive than I am used to.

For reference, in my home country of Denmark (which is more expensive than Georgia in every way, taxi, rent, grocery, average income etc) and cigars in Denmark cost anywhere from 20 GEL up to around 70 GEL for some really good quality cigars. I usually pay 35 GEL for some good quality Davidoffs and Macanudo cigars.

Is it possible to find cigars in the same price range here, or are cigars just in general expensive? I was very surprised since cigarettes are cheaper here than in Denmark. A pack of Marlboro costs 25 GEL in Denmark, and only around 9 GEL here, so it doesn’t make sense with the cigar prices for me…

My hotel is right by the concert hall, so a shop close to here is preferred, however, I travel all throughout Tbilisi almost every other day, so as long as it is within city limits, it’s fine.

I’m looking for a local, non-touristy shop so I don’t get charged tourist prices.

Thanks in advance!
