This game deserves GOTY status IMO. The combat, story, characters and soundtrack are absolutely top tier!

My headcanon is that she draws her mana from the earth and footwear gets in the way. In the same way that Quiet from Metal Gear breathes through her skin and must wear a bikini at all times.
