The Trump administration is set to destroy $9.7 million worth of US-purchased contraceptives rather than deliver them to women overseas, following the dismantling of foreign assistance programs carried out by the US Agency for International Development, or USAID.
The “preliminary decision” to destroy the USAID-procured birth control was confirmed by a State Department spokesperson, who said the cost of incinerating them would be $167,000.
The only people worth their aid are the wealthy. Fuck these people.
This is such a wildly theocratic move. Why would you not at least just keep them here and give them out to our citizens for free? The only answer could be that you see birth control as something bad to be avoided. And of course it coincidentally helps make sure the poor people keep producing plenty of future slaves. I wish somebody would sue for wastefulness. They could give away these contraceptives here in the states rather than just throwing them away. We should be able to get our $9.7 million back if you’re just going to destroy them.
