The incident occurred while the child, Govinda, was playing near his home. A cobra came close to him and reportedly entered his hands. In response, the child bit the snake, which died on the spot.

But the child got sick after biting it! Perhaps it is also poisonous.

  Not poisonous, but possibly toxic. Or possibly laden with salmonella.
  
  Cooking it first might have made it safe.
