A contrast between liberal effectiveness and socialist fecklessness.
This article is about Bernie Sanders showboating with a showy but meaningless attack on Israel. Meanwhile, Biden got the job done behind the scenes:
“The Israelis have indicated that they are preparing to transition their operations to a much lower intensity, and we believe that that transition will be helpful both in terms of reducing civilian casualties as well as increasing humanitarian assistance.”
That’s the buried lede: Biden got it done, Bernie is fucking useless at best. But the #GenocideJoe liars will be pleased at Bernie attacking Biden.

@TruthSandwich@sfba.social Yeah, maybe Bernie dying is a bit of a radical solution, but if he DID die, I wouldn’t lose any sleep. I hope that doesn’t make me sound cruel.
@squig@mastodon-uk.net
Right, I won’t miss him when he goes, but I’m not rushing him into the grave, either.
Thing is, the problem isn’t just the bad people, it’s their bad ideas, and these persist, even in death.
I’ll cheer when Trump dies (although I’d rather he live long enough to die behind bars), but I’m under no illusion that Trumpism will die with him. Likewise, Bernie’s socialist-populist incursion into the DNC was never just about him and won’t end with him.
@TruthSandwich@sfba.social Yep, that’s reasonable. Trumpism can die along with Trump, if the myth is destroyed. If Trump dies while millions of Americans literally worship him as God, and would kill, and die for him, then we could have problems. It’s best if he’s quickly dragged through the courts, stripped, humiliated, beggared, and broken, because Americans despise losers. Otherwise, he’s likely to stage another bloody-coup, or commit some other heinous terroristic acts, befitting a rotten traitor.
@squig@mastodon-uk.net
I wish I could agree, but I can’t. Trumpism is just a particular brand of fascism. It’s not like Naziism died with Hitler, either. Then again, Hitler had to die.
So, yes, we do have to stop Trump and punish him for his crimes, but we shouldn’t imagine that it will end with him. However, if we don’t stop him, then it will continue with him.
@TruthSandwich@sfba.social Trump is uniquely dangerous, his pathology is extreme, he infects others, he’s a walking plague upon mankind. They say ‘better the Devil you know’, but I’d rather suffer under any other devil than that bloated orange rat bastard.
@squig@mastodon-uk.net
Right, we have to stop Trump to block the rise of fascism. It’s necessary, but not sufficient.
@TruthSandwich@sfba.social It’s a good start, sir. I’ll sleep better when that traitor is dead, and rotting in Hell.
@squig@mastodon-uk.net
His death is less important than how he lives out the rest of his life. Better that he survive long enough to receive punishment for his crimes and serve as a lesson for those who would follow in his footsteps.
@TruthSandwich@sfba.social Absolutely. The best career move for Trump is to die, because I believe it’s all downhill for him now. I want to see him convicted, jailed, for, say… 20 years, serve 5 or 6, be miserable, then die; though, I suspect in any case he doesn’t have long to live. I wouldn’t be surprised if his heart gave out, or the dementia got him, or even Putin’s long arm reaches out, and puts an end to him.
