Great shave. It is very cold outside today. It was probably not the best choice with menthol but it’s a good scent.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
A Cerberus celebration today. I don’t know why they did it, but this HoM, DG, and NO collaboration is terrific.
Cerberus ++;
Yeah, I used Theme Thursday as an excuse to pull out the trifecta again. The artisans just killed it with this one.
Any excuse to use census is a good a excuse☺️
@djundjila@sub.wetshaving.social
That should have read “Cerberus”, of course
@gcgallantYeah, I got that. Auto-correct tries to be helpful :) I’m doing some consulting in the auto industry. Auto-correct didn’t care for MISRA until finally machine learning “learned”.
huh, one would think that the auto industry is all about Auto-correct (badum tssssss)
lol! That’s bordering on dad-joke territory. But … you qualify.

Artisan Appreciation
January 11, 2024
Use as many artisan and/or collab products as possible. Both software and hardware encouraged.Interesting metric, this. I won’t pretend that the software products today harmonize well, but they do rack up quite the artisan count and I got a good shave. Depending on whether you accept the Gem Cutlery Company and Pinaud Clubman as artisans, I get to between 10 and 12 artisans:
- Chisel and Hound
- Zenith
- u/EldrormR
- Gem Cutlery Company
- Summer Break Soaps
- London Razors
- Z*&£#
- Barrister and Mann
- House of Mammoth
- Noble Otter
- Declaration Grooming
- Pinaud Clubman

- Prep: warm water
- Razor: Pearl Blaze w/ RazoRock bamboo handle
- Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux
- Brush: AP Shave Co. 30 mm Tuxedo Fan w/ black & clear handle
- Lather: Southern Witchcrafts - Gravefruit II (scent by Shawn Maher)
- Post Shave: Thayer’s Aloe Vera toner; Stirling Orange Chill ASB
- Fragrance: Coach - Platinum EdP sample
So today seems to be collab day. The only soap that I have that fits the bill is GF2 by SW. The scent for it was developed by Shawn Maher so that’s as good of a collab I can get.
Gravefruit II reminded me of warmer days, a very welcome reminiscence to summer during a very cold period. Today we had -13°C in the morning and everything was covered in ice. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be a bit milder, but more icy surfaces.
One pass head shave. The Blaze with the stainless steel Bamboo style handle works good for head shaving, the grooves on the handle are really nice. However, despite the fresh RPL blade, my shave wasn’t as close as usual. But good enough for nursing school tomorrow.
This EdP sample, while pleasant, is sadly again something that doesn’t seem very interesting to me. Nothing really stands out. No complaints but also no compliments on it either.

Once upon a time, @Old_Hiker@sub.wetshaving.social mentioned that he didn’t soak his boar brushes. Today I decided I would step into his shoes.
A short run under warm water (30-45 seconds, maybe?) and it was good to go. Just as good, if not better, than a 10-15 minute soak.
This brush is, of course, already broken in most of the way, so maybe a soak is a good idea with newer boar brushes.
