An Alaska Airlines flight traveling from Portland, Oregon, to Ontario, California, had to make an emergency landing Friday night after a portion of the aircraft blew out mid-air.
This probably has nothing to do with maintenance. The plane was only two months old. Enough for some inspections, but nobody would suspect or look for cracks in the fuselage at that point.
