The proposal is still in the early planning stages and would require landlords to install air conditioners or heat pumps in rental units to maintain a maximum indoor temperature during summer heat.

At a minimum, we should make it illegal for landlords to block tenants from having AC installed.

If we aren’t going to require it, at least force them to allow it. Too many rentals have a “no window units” clause, that needs to go.

We recently upgraded our house to central air, something went wrong this week and while it was 96° outside it was 89° inside.

I had to go sit in the car AC at 1 AM because the heat was making me sick. AC should be perma-fixed tomorrow.
