I see a lot of ‘warnings’ about ISPs and how they can see your web history even in incognito and store it for up to three years, leading to people using a VPN to avoid this. I’m wondering why I should care - at least where I live, there’s only about three competitors here. My ISP alone has a customer count in the five millions, so I just don’t understand why they would focus on one person and check their browsing habits? Maybe if you get into trouble and the authorities go to the ISP to get your data…?
